October 20th: A Day Without Water Challenge
Today is Imagine a Day Without Water Day. Imagine you had to live a day without water. What would you do? How would this impact your daily routine? I challenge you to join me and the US Water Alliance's Value of Water Campaign by writing and sharing your own water story. Read my story below.
My Water Story
by Dr. Kylene Lebby Davis
If I had to live a day without water I would suffer! I love to take quick warm showers in the mornings. Of course, without water I wouldn’t be able to do that. I would be stinky and dirty the entire day. Yuck! My teeth would be slimy and gritty because I wouldn’t be able to rinse them after brushing. Gross! On some mornings I enjoy a cup of hot tea with a Danish or muffin. If there were no water, then I wouldn’t be able to have my delicious tea. In the evenings I like to go to the gym and workout or go for a brisk walk around the neighborhood. Afterwards, I am so thirsty and tired that I am thrilled to gulp down a cold glass of water. Water is essential to life, so let’s do things to conserve it such as: taking shorter showers, watering your lawn or garden at sundown or early morning, and not leaving water running while brushing your teeth.
Please submit your water story to [email protected]. I will post it on our website. Thank you for your participation.
